Farm Life

'If something comes to life in others because of you,
then you have made an approach to immortality.'
-Norman Cousins (1912-1990)

'My heart leaps up when I behold a rainbow in the sky.'
-William Wordsworth (1770-1850)

'God gives every bird its food, but He does not throw it into its nest.'
J.G. Holland
‘Be as a bird perched on a frail branch that she feels bending beneath her, still she sings away all the time, knowing she has wings.’
– Victor Hugo
'Hold fast to dreams for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.'
Langston Hughes
‘The living self has one purpose only: to come into its own fullness of being, as a tree comes into full blossom, or a bird into spring beauty, or a tiger into lustre.’
- D H Lawrence
Managed to get a glimpse of this goanna as it scurried across the paddock
It is hard to believe how quickly these creatures move for their size

This beautiful Tawny Frogmouth Owl recently appeared on the railing of the Al Fresco area as the barbeque was cooking

'The wailing owl screams solitary to the mournful moon.'
-David Mallet
Determined to try to keep things 'light' this week, I have simply taken some pictures from the 'Farm' file adding quotes that I like.

Tomorrow I have another CT Scan to determine if there is any spread to the pelvis and the abdomen followed by an appointment with my oncologist Thursday to get the results.

It is my intention to ask very direct questions with the expectation of complete honesty. It is important for me to know exactly what I am facing.

I hope tomorrow goes well with the CT. Scan anxiety....

Were these beautiful birds photographed on your farm?

I have 2 pairs of nesting cardinals (bright red birds) and a blue jay and occasionally goldfinches. Every other bird is dull colored.

Love the Norman Cousins quote. And fabulous frogmouth owl photos! That's not an owl we have; he's (or she) is so lovely.
Hoping for best news from scans & sending hugs.

Chez, it has done me a wonder to know for sure that even with all you are going through, you are still seeing beauty all around you. And capturing it beautifully!

We will all be thinking of you, praying for you, and loving you as you go through your test and appointments.
love and hope, xoxoxox Starry

Thank you Sue. Test now over and done with. No more for me now as I am 'over' having them.
We have the most amazing birdlife here on the farm. Such beautiful colours! Today Haydn brought in a very special blue colourede feather although we have no idea of the type of bird due to its size.
We are truly blessed!
Are you in town or on property? We have noticed over time that the more trees and shrubs we plant, the more birds we have. We deliberately planted different species with a view to providing a haven for birds, butterflies etc. Nature provides healing for us with its beauty.

Thanks Julie. Always looking for quotes as they give me the words I do not find for myself. That is why the internet is such a great tool.
Actually, I was unaware we had these owls until it arrived to the smell wafting into the air from the barbeque.
Testing all over now. Thankfully!

Starry your choice of words always brings a tear to my eye. It reminds me that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that is what you see. Love you for that! It is always comforting to know that you walk beside me. Thank you my friend xo

Chez, Thanks for sharing the great photos and quotes. Birds in my yard are plentiful this spring it seems.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you. And yes, do be direct with your questions, because you deserve straight honest answers. My best to you, Chez.

Looking forward to hear some positive news. It is true even I keep looking for good quotes in the Internet, for I too don't have the right words to express my feelings. The pictures are all heavenly.I am happy you take time out to enjoy the beauty of nature.
You are always on my mind.
Love, Rama.

Rama, the thing I enjoy about blogging is the friendship of fellow bloggers. Taking the time to live in the present and enjoy the fauna and flora is often the thing that gets me through the difficult days.
Quotes seem to have become a 'part' of me and I love sharing the wisdom of others.
Love Chez xo

Chez,

I am always thinking of you. I enjoyed the beautiful pictures and quotes. I know that, as a patient, all we want is honesty from the doctors.

Hang in there and hang tough!
